Electric Dragon 80,000 Volts

Wow, what a movie. Sogo Ishii is one of my favorite Japanese filmmakers, thanks to flicks like Burst City. This 55-minute sweetie deals with Dragon Eye Morrison, played by Kakihara himself Tadanobu Asano, a young man who was electrocuted in his youth and is now a human conductor who collects reptiles for a living. All is well until another electro-warrior, Thunderbolt Buddha, shows up in town. A battle of epic proportions ensues. Like Burst City, the movie moves fast and is edited just the same, particularly the last battle between the two warriors where it looks like the whole city might be destroyed. My only beef is the fact that the movie is too short, and made me hunger for more. I hope they make a sequel, because Dragon-Eye Morrison is an excellent character. Maybe he could fight an American who shoots electricity.
