Bloody Exorcism Of Coffin Joe

I’ve always been a big fan of Coffin Joe, and after many years searching for this film, I was surprised of how disappointed I was. The film is surprisingly cheap and amateurish, which is really shocking considering how stylish At Midnight I’ll Take Your Soul and This Night I’ll Possess Your Corpse are. Also, my copy is the uber-degraded Something Weird version, so maybe that adds a little to it. One of those “movies about movies”, Jose Mojica Marins plays himself, going into a vacation to write his next project. When he arrives, he and his family are haunted by evil manifestations and possessions. It turns out mommy sold her soul to the devil many years ago so that she could give birth to their first daughter, and when that first daughter wants to marry someone that the satanists don’t like, they take it a little too personal. Turns out however, that the demon takes the form of Coffin Joe himself, and it’s up to Jose to save his family from the satanist’s grip. The last act is the most interesting of all, with the production design and the acting taking on a very delirious turn. Plus, there are tits, and those are always good. But still, this movie is only recommended for fans of the Joe, the rest may have a bit of a problem with it.
