Christiane F. - Wir Kinder vom Bahnhof Zoo

Based on the real-life story of author Christiane F., the story deals with a fourteen year old girl who, through peer pressure, becomes a junkie and dates another junkie, and showing their real struggles on their streets and trying to get clean, all deep in the drug scene of Germany. The story is very simple, but this is without a doubt the greatest anti-drug film ever made.
If there is one movie that can make you quit or never want to do hard drugs, this is it. The actors, who I think are really fourteen or at least they look that way, are great in their roles, showing the hatred, sadness and horror they go through. It’s especially apparent during the withdraw scenes, where they look like they are genuinely suffering. Makes the withdraw scenes in Gia look like a Disney movie. There’s nothing glamorous about it. Suffering in pain, vomiting blood and puke mixed together, it’s truly unpleasant and not very “viewer-friendly” if you know what I mean. If I was a father, I would definitely show this movie to my teen kids, because they’ll never want to touch that shit again. Friends die, they get off the drugs, they get on again, turn tricks, it’s almost like a horror movie about drugs, and it’s much more effective and shocking than “Requiem For A Dream”. Highly recommended.
