Eat The Rich: The Cannibal Murders

I’m not the biggest fan of Ron Atkins, but he is someone who, as a filmmaker, I admire. He’s able to make his own movies, on his own time, have final cut and not have to rely on anybody for money. Basically, this is a remake of The Texas Chainsaw Massacre, only done in a more “backyard’ kind of way. It deals with a cannibal trio made up of a Clint Eastwood sound-alike, a sergeant who talks like Sergeant Slaughter and a fuckin’ ugly dude in a body bag. Together they kidnap and torture people and, of course, eat them. I have to give props on some very well-done makeup and gore, although some stuff did look like it was bought in a Halloween store, and I’m talking about the dismembered hands. Sorry I have some that look just like them. Sadly, like most indie horrors, it suffers from bad acting, except for the Clint Eastwood sound-alike who is actually pretty damn spot-on. Still, if you want gore, murder and a lot of average-looking babes naked, this is the one to get.
