Satanico Pandemonium

Cecilia Pezet plays Sister Maria, a beloved, beautiful and wise young nun who is admired and respected by all, being both doctor and psychologist to the other nuns. But this all turns around when she meets a naked stranger on the road named Luzbel (Enrique Rocha), who may just be none other than Satan himself. Soon after, her thoughts are turned into lust, as she first begins seducing the other nuns, and soon turns her game into one of murder. After murdering a young boy and the Mother Superior, she makes a deal with the devil to become the new Mother Superior. But is this all really happening, or could it all be going on in her mind?
I first heard about this sleazy masterpiece thanks to Mondo Macabro, a company which excels in the release of foreign horror and exploitation films. I also knew that this film had inspired the name of Salma Hayek’s character in From Dusk ‘Till Dawn. Now, if you read this blog, you know I have a love for nunsploitation movies. Maybe it was because I was raised Catholic, but I get really turned on by the idea of hot nuns becoming lusty and evil and trying to have sex with anyone who gets in their way. And this, my friends, is probably the sleaziest of them all. From frame one, you know you’re in for something special. There is a share of nudity, but most of it comes from our leading lady, Cecilia Pezet. She’s not as hot as most of the girls featured in Italian nunsploitation movies, but that’s what I like about her: she looks like a real woman and not a super-babe. When she gets the devil in her she really gets naughty: having sex with women, seducing young boys, helping a nun kill herself, murdering, the works. We even get a slick torture scene where a naked Sister Maria is forced to drink hot lead and gets her eyeball gloriously ripped out. The last scene before her untimely demise features the nunnery turning into a full-blown orgy! Yes, it’s all there.
Sadly the ending is a bit of a cop-out, but it’s not enough to ruin the experience. I mean, you know what you’re getting when you’re renting a sexploitation movie with nuns called Satanico Pandemonium, and you get it all in spades. And at a running time of 87 minutes, what more could you ask for?
